Home / About FIRST / FRC / VEX / FLL / Jr. FLL
Similar to FRC, VEX participants are presented with a new game each year, and are challenged to build a robot from a variety of VEX parts. VEX robots are smaller than those participating in FRC, but are generally larger and more complex than those in FLL. At competition, teams compete against one another in alliances of two; the alliance with the most points at the end of the match wins. Awards are given to teams based on their robot’s design and performance on the field, as well as the team’s
enthusiasm and attitude off the field.
In 2012, our school established its first VEX Robotics team for our S1 (grade 7/8) students. Participating in VEX encourages them to build teamwork, leadership, and problem solving skills, and prepares them for the world of STEM that awaits them in the future with our FRC program.
