This year’s game:

In Reefscape, two alliances of three teams compete and cooperate to earn points by collecting algae, placing coral on their reef, and returning to their barge at the end of the game. Robots begin at the start line and can be preloaded with one coral. Alliances can earn ranking points if all three robots leave the start line and score at least one point during the 15-second autonomous period, or by removing algae and scoring coral on all four levels of the reef during the rest of the match. Algae can be placed in the net or the processor, where the opposing alliance’s human player can take it and try scoring it into the net. Coral can be collected from the alliance’s human player and scored on the reef. The higher it is placed, the more points the alliance gets. As the game ends, robots try and hang on either a shallow or deep cage to earn more points. The alliance with the most points wins the match!
