Jr. FLL

Jr. FIRST Lego League (Jr.FLL) is a robotics competition aimed at children, ages 6-9

Similar to the FLL program, Jr. FLL participants are also presented with an annual challenge, which requires the students to use their critical thinking and LEGO building skills to solve real-world problems. The mentors work closely with the students to help them learn about problem-solving and the world around them. These young students are able to improve upon their research and communication skills while learning how to collaboratively work in a team. Jr. FLL allows young minds to experience the world of technology and engineering in a fun and interactive manner.

In 2010 our school decided to take on the new initiative of implementing the Jr. FLL program for our grade 1 and 2 students. Initially we intended to have one Jr. FLL team, however, due to the high interest, out school is now proud to be home to three all-girls Jr. FLL teams, all of which are mentored by student leaders from SWAT 771. Additionally, SWAT has been hosting a Jr.FLL Showcase for the Toronto West since 2014.
