The 2012 build season has officially begun!

This year’s FIRST Robotics game challenge is Rebound Rumble.

Rebound Rumble is played between two opposing teams: the Red & Blue Alliance.

Each alliance is composed of three robots that are designed and build by high-school FIRST Robotics teams. In this year’s game of Rebound Rumble, points are awarded to robots that score baskets in their team’s hoops. However, it wouldn’t be a FIRST Robotics game unless there were a few challenges. Teams will work with technology such as Kinect software to control the robots movements and Retro-Reflective tracking tape to score baskets. Teams may also design their robot to compete in the end game challenge. This year the end game involves working with both your alliance as well as the opposing alliance to balance robots on the teetering bridge. If teams successfully balance the bridges they will also gain valuable game points.
